2014 to be a bright year for IT job opportunities

2014 will be ripe with IT job opportunity in 2014.

It is no surprise that the need for quality technology professionals is growing across the board. As IT becomes a more central piece of traditional business operations, companies need to find the right professionals to manage these solutions. According to a new report, this means the outlook for technology workers will be bright in the new year.

A recent report from Fortune examined the tech job forecast for 2014 and found that companies plan to hire more IT staff in the year ahead and pay them larger salaries. A study cited in the article said that 55 percent more employers are planning on bringing in a large number of tech professionals in 2014. That number is up from 42 percent, which was reported in the second half of 2013.

The article features an interview with Rona Borre, the CEO of Chicago-based tech recruiting firm Instant Technology. She mentioned that a year ago, the landscape did not look this promising for employees. However with steeper competition to identify and retain quality individuals, employers are going to be paying top dollar. This increases when those individuals have the ability to handle both IT and non-technical sides of a company.

"So being able to play that dual role of tech person and business analyst is what moves people's tech careers forward now," she says. "The days of the tech guy or gal sitting alone in the corner are over."

To bypass this hiring frenzy, many organizations are instead partnering with VARs and MSPs to answer today's IT challenges. VAR Staffing helps these solution providers target and recruit the impactful talent that is needed.
