Enterprise Network Engineer

Our established and respected client is a professional services firm providing advanced network and security solutions.  They are adding a senior level Network Engineer familiar with the Enterprise space. This position is responsible for assessing and designing solutions to meet their client’s technology needs. This position requires an overall knowledge of network engineering across a broad range of network platforms. 

Primary duties will include many of the following:

  • Planning, Designing and Evaluating various components of client networks
  • Understanding the communication protocols and network topologies
  • Understanding various network switching products and wireless devices
  • Interfacing with clients, partners and internal team members to develop technology roadmaps
  • Providing leadership, assistance and advice to peers
  • Learning new processes and technologies


  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in a technical discipline and/or 6+ years of demonstrated experience and work in a technical environment
  • Working experience with an OEM, VAR or as an independent consultant in the IT Technical Services Industry
  • Must have expertise across a wide base of technology such as Core Networking, Wireless Networking and Network Security
  • Must have a strong knowledge of IT products and services
  • Must be able to quickly learn new processes
  • CCNA, CCNP desired
  • Can Travel 50% of the year


  • Consult with clients and partners in developing physical and logical networks
  • Effectively communicate technology (STP, BPDU, VLANS, OSPF) to clients and team members
  • Configure various vendor hardware platforms based on design (HP, Cisco, Brocade)
  • Install, operate and maintain network equipment on various client networks
  • Execute project scope requirements including, staging, implementation, change management, testing and documentation
  • Supervise internal and external resources to identify technical requirements
  • Ensure that L2 / L3 testing has been completed prior to leaving customer site
  • Learn new technology with little to no supervision and demonstrate technology to the Traversa team
  • Provide coaching, mentorship and senior level subject matter expertise to the internal team.
  • Ensure that project delivery and documentation consistently meet the highest level of client satisfaction
  • Develop, maintain and upload customer information to company DropBox
  • Maintain and record projected based time into company CRM tool


  • Must have excellent communication skills including verbal, written and presentation
  • Should have excellent analytical and problem solving skills such as identification, risk analysis, solution generation, prioritization, goal setting and conflict resolution
  • Must have a strong phone presence and can cultivate relationships and communicate with clients, partners and other team members
  • Must be able to effectively organize, multi-task and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Must be able to work independently or as a member of project teams
  • Must follow tasks to completion and be dependable
  • Must demonstrate business professional attitude when working with internal staff and external customers
  • Must be able to multi task in a time controlled environment
  • Must be able to follow company procedures and processes
  • Must be skilled in time management, change management and client escalation discussions
